TRAMPING PRESENTATIONS

AZUL BLASEOTTO UND EDUARDO MOLINARI:
I AM NO CLIENT

Azul Blaseotto and Eduardo Molinari have established a mobile dock in the HERBERGE. A platform for interaction, thought, and imagination, the space is open to everyone. In the midst of post-industrial, global-finance capitalism, one can nevertheless shape contemporary urban space by developing collective ideas and images from the appeals that were first articulated by the Congress of Vagabonds in 1929.
The visual artists Azul Blaseotto and Eduardo Molinari founded the art space La Darsena in Buenos Aires.
HERBERGE and urban space / 7.-28.06.
HERBERGSSALON / 23.06., 09:00 pm

TAISIYA KRUGOVYKH UND VASILY BOGATOV:
EXERCISES IN VAGRANCY

I left my home on the 13th and never came back. For most people, I became a soul who will soon be forgotten, banished from the thoughts of those I once knew, as if sold into slavery or kidnapped by a maniac or an organ trader, never to be seen again. But who, I ask, desires an organ from my worn body?
Goods and possessions encased in plastic bags, along with photos and videos, delineate the picture of a vagabond in Russia within the urban space of Stuttgart.
Taisiya Krugovykh and Vasily Bogatov are documentary filmmakers. They have collaborated with the Russian art collectives Voina and Pussy Riot, respectively.
HERBERGE and urban space / 7.-28.06.
HERBERGSSALON / 24.06., 08:00 pm

ANDREAS LIEBMANN:
ACTIVISM BY NIGHT

Bank vaults shine into the night sky. Patients call out to nurses, who have nodded off during their shifts. Rats and wage-workers howl in competition with one another. Andreas Liebmann screws at circadian rhythms, examines the potential of reserved time, and commences friendships with grey shapes, objects, and terms, which often do not see the light of day, but keep the machine running, nevertheless.
Andreas Liebmann is an author, director, and performer. He lives in Zürich and Berlin.
HERBERGE and urban space / 7.-28.06.
HERBERGSSALON / 25.06., 08:00 pm

SIYABONGA MTHEMBU:
THE VAGABOND NEWS NETWORK – NO MORE TUESDAYS!

In response to the realization that the large news networks are run by capitalist oligarchs, whose interests frame world events and determine what is news and what isn’t, the Vagabond News Network protests this skewed picture of reality. This show includes pre-recorded excerpts from vagabonds on the road around the world, who demonstrate how life itself can be fashioned into an unending general strike.
Hosted on NoMoreTuesdays.com by Mr. Gold WaseGoli, the Vagabond News Network covers the anniversary of the Congress of Vagabonds, first held in 1929.
Siyabonga Mthembu is singer, storyteller and performer from Johannesburg.

HERBERGSSALON / 11.06., 08:00 pm

KARL PHILIPS:
LIGHT POLE NEST

Given that current urban protest movements occupy public places and rely on digital communication for their organization, the light post acquires a new meaning as a neurological synapse of contemporary politics. The Belgian conceptual artist and (h)a(c)ktivist Karl Philips converts this post into a working station that simultaneously functions as a monitoring guard, ensures uninterrupted radio communication, provides light, and delivers electricity. This détournement relies on both political and economic strategies in order to create something like a pirates’s nest that is beneficial to everyone.
Urban space / 7.-28.06.
HERBERGSSALON / 16.06., 08:00 pm

ALINA POPA UND FLORIN FLUERAS:
UNSORCERY. DEAD THINKING

The notion of “unsorcery” is the embrace of an impossible cognition and a horrific affect, the unfolding of a ‚via negativa‘ that begins where hope ends, leaving everything else behind as remnants of a bleak, dark, and dead world. Unsorcery proposes concepts and practices such as Second Body, Dead Thinking, Eternal Feeding Technique, which orient the viewer away from both the current capitalist religion and the nostalgic mystification of world and nature. The final destination is unknown, but Unsorcery is the only hope that remains.
The visual artist Alina Popa und the choreographer Florin Flueras are from Rumania. They established the art, science & business program at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart.

JUSTIN TIME:
I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING

The action “I haven’t done anything” is, literally, an anti-action. At specific places in the urban space of Stuttgart, the artist will sit down for the length of the day. Accompanied by colorful inflatable armchairs, he will occupy a spot delimited by artificial grass and a rustic fence. Visitors are welcome to join him, inflate an armchair, or simply practice the fine art of doing nothing.
At the end of the day everything will be removed and carried away. Because of staying there all day we will initiate a pizza delivery at lunchtime.
Justin Time is an artist from Berlin.
Urban space / 7.-28.06.
HERBERGSSALON / 9.06., 08:00 pm

ARTÚR VAN BALEN:
INFLATABLE SPECTACLES. TOOLS FOR ACTION

Why are inflatable objects, which often populate parades in the USA and the Soviet Union, so well adapted as tools for artistic and political actions? Interestingly, their emergence coincides with the Congress of Vagabonds in Stuttgart in 1929. During this workshop, participants will construct inflatable sculptures resembling broadsheets that will be deployed in public.
Artúr van Balen is an artist from the Netherlands.

‘N-1’ asks after the organization of vagrancy: what is a vagabond organization? How does power function at the end of the economy What means does it have at its disposal for capturing today that which will come tomorrow? How do machines produce value? How is singularity possible when the mechanisms of accumulation do not restrict themselves to concrete actions in a specific place and time, but pervade the molecular, the aleatory, the uncertain, and the indeterminate, all phenomena that are still in the process of becoming?

AS WE ARE:
DUMPSTER DIVING – WE ARE VAGOBONDS

Poverty, risk, and rents increase. What will Stuttgart look like in 2030? And what will we have to learn between now and then? For the citizen of tomorrow. DUMPSTER DIVING offers a performative walk through the city as a guide to the coming society. It opens a new view on a seemingly well-known quarter around the Marienplatz.
Can one feel at home in a state of homelessness? How do you escape from belonging to a given country? How does one manage in a world of strangers? Two homeless people and a refugee share the skills they have learned in surviving without financial resources as a model for the transformation of the city for the near future.

CRISIS OF DEMOCRACY AND PUBLIC SPACE
